If you are admitted to a hospital St. Mary’s may not be notified. Please give us a call if you would like a visit. Due to privacy issues no one will be listed in the bulletin sick list unless the person themselves or an immediate family member requests it.

ECO (Electric Contributions Option) Program is always open for new sign-ups. See the information at the rear of church or call the parish office. ECO –schedule: Weekly November 20, & 27; bi-weekly November 20; Monthly November 1st or 15th.

FYI: the Christmas Mass schedule will be:

December 23-24 -Fourth Sunday of Advent: Regular Mass Schedule 4:00 p.m - 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

December 24th -Christmas Eve: 5:00 p.m. and the traditional Midnight Mass

December 25th - Christmas Day: 10:30 a.m.

The Feast of Mary, Mother of God is not a day of obligation this year but we will have a Mass on January 1st at 12:00 Noon

Vocalists who would like to participate in Christmas Services are needed. Midnight Mass/Christmas Day service rehearsals will begin November 29th.  All voices are welcome. Male voices are particularly needed.

Children who are interested in singing at the 5:00 Christmas Eve or 10:30 Christmas day service are needed as well.  Bell ringers are also needed. See Teresa Monds if interested in the Christmas Eve service and Joy Seipp if interested in singing Christmas Day.

St. Leo Preservation Society: The society is a non-profit organization that seeks to maintain and restore the church named after Pope St. Leo the Great on Hanford St. Donations to the society are tax deductible and can be sent to the society at 1451 Linwood Ave., Columbus OH 43206.

Young Adult Gathering: The Columbus Diocesan Office of youth and Young Adult Ministry invites Young Adults 18-25, to join together for Mass followed by a tour of the Jubilee Museum Thursday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. the Mass will be at Holy Family Church 584 W. Broad St. Father Kevin Lutz will be the celebrant. The Jubilee Museum is near the church at 57 S. Albert the Great was one of the Church's greatest intellects. He studied at the University of Padua and later taught at Hildesheim, Freiburg-im-Breisgau, Regensburg, and Strasbourg. He then taught at the University of Paris, where he received his doctorate in 1245. He was among the first and greatest of the natural scientists, gaining a reputation for expertise in biology, mathematics, chemistry, metaphysics, physics, astronomy, and geography. He was also very learned in biblical studies and theology. His feast day is November 15th and he is the patron of Scientists.

St. Mary’s has relics of Saints in the Southeast alcove of the church. While visiting these relics you may wish to write the name of a loved one who has died. We will remember and pray for them this November.

St. Therese’s Retreat Center in Columbus is sponsoring a “24 Hour Advent Retreat”, December 8th & 9th.The title of the retreat is: Deepening our Longing for God. Fr. Jack Dister, S.J. will be the presenter for this special time. It begins with supper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and will conclude after Mass and supper on Saturday evening. Cost is $75.00. High School Students: Future activities include: November 11 live bands in the gym at 6:00 p.m.; November 19 and December 10, pizza in the rectory at 4:30 p.m. and free transportation to the Jesus Jam at St. Agatha. Your friends from other churches are invited to all activities except the ones that require St. Mary’s to provide transportation.

Knights of Columbus #5429 will have a Thanksgiving Eve Men’s Gathering at St. Mary’s School Gym Wednesday, November 22 from 6:30 until Midnight (or so). Fun Food, fellowship and a beverage or two! Evening raffle and an occasional split the pot. Cost is $15.00 at the door. Please come and join us.

FYI – St. Mary’s will again have the Christmas Tree Sale beginning November 25th, Chili and Carols will be Friday, December 1st beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Maennerchor Concert will be Sunday, December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. and we will have the Gala Saturday, January 13, 2007. Please remember to patronize these events!

4-S Ladies Auxiliary Dinner will be Sunday November 12th from 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m. Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings. $7 per person, carry-out will be available. Everyone is welcome, 281 S. Whittier St.

Can you fulfill a Christmas wish?  St. Mary's annual Adopt-a-Family "wish lists" will be available at every Mass on November 17 & 18, and gifts will be collected December 3 & 4. Donations will be accepted to purchase grocery gift cards. Several of our St. Mary families need help this year. For more information, call Julie Graham-Price, 444-5409.
