Saint Mary Parish 81st Annual Homecoming Festival is Friday & Saturday, August 11th & 12th. Please drop your ticket stubs and check/cash in the collection basket or parish office. Additional tickets are available in the parish office.

    Thank you so much for the wonderful send-off you gave me on Monday night.  It was really touching to see so many of you come to the Mass and reception.  Thanks for your generous gifts and for the wonderful travel voucher you gave me - I'm sure I'll have a great vacation this year, thanks to you!

St. Mary’s will host a Protecting God’s Children session on Saturday, August 5th from 12 Noon to 3 PM in the atrium (Burkley Center). The safety of our children and young people is best assured when all adults have been trained and understand how to build a safe environment for children. The Diocesan Summer Institute (sponsored by the Ministry Formation Office) Keynote Address by Reverend Daniel Torson, CPPS, D.Min. :“An Evening with Henri Nouwen: Portrait of a Wounded Healer”, Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pontificial College Josephinum, 7625 N. High St., Worthington.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the death of Fr. Henri Nouwen, one of the most significant spiritual writers of the twentieth century. His writings of over forty books convey his life-long quest for a deeper experience of God while living in the midst of our modern world. Come and share the experience of this holy man whose journey of longing, restlessness, and brokenness continues to offer hope and vision for the Christian life today.

Fr. Daniel Torson is a member of the Society of the Precious Blood, Kansas City Province. He has spent the past twelve years in college campus ministry, teaching, and adult education. Currently, Fr. Torson is an Assistant Professor of Theology and Chaplain at Lewis University (sponsored by the Christian Brothers) in Romeoville (suburban Chicago), IL. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Christian Ethics at Loyola University Chicago with interests in virtue and narrative ethics.
