Dear parishioners,

It’s hard to believe, but this is my last weekend at St. Mary’s. Goodbyes are never easy, and change is always hard for us all – but it’s a normal part of life. The up side is that with change, there is always opportunity for growth and for new beginnings.

I will certainly take many precious memories of my time here at St. Mary’s with me to my new assignment! I am grateful to the Lord for the many blessing He has bestowed upon me here, and for the privilege of being a part of your lives. I am especially thankful for the gift of your faith, which runs so strong here at St. Mary’s. Thank you for your discipleship and your willingness to grow in holiness – so many of you have been a true inspiration for me, in ways you will never know, and I am forever grateful for all you are and all you do.

Mount Vernon is only an hour away, so I hope you will come and see me some time! Let us continue to remember one another in prayer. Please ask the Lord to bless me in my new parish, and be assured that you will be in my prayers. I really think you will like Fr. Thomas – he’s a good priest, and I’m glad that you will be in such good hands. Let us also pray for him as he begins his ministry here at St. Mary’s

May the Lord bless and keep you always!

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Hammond

Special blessings on Father Hammond as he moves to his next assignment in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Sr. Regina and school staff.
