Dear parishioners,

First, I would like to thank everyone who participated in last Sunday’s Corpus Christi celebration and procession.  This gives a visible and public witness to our Catholic faith and our belief in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

As Pope Benedict XVI said in his weekly Angelus address: "By carrying the Eucharist through the streets and squares, we wish to submerge the bread descended from heaven in the everyday of our lives; we want Jesus to walk where we walk; to live where we live."

A special thank you to: the choir, altar servers, deacons, seminarians, Knights of Columbus, and the community of the Sisters of Reparation to the Most Sacred Heart. Thank you as well to Eleanor Noltemeyer, Chuck & Jean Bryan, and Holly & Greg Gaughan for allowing us to make a stop in their yards for Benediction.

Second, while I am on vacation I want to thank Msgr. Thomas Bender and Fr. Ralph Huntzinger for filling in for me.

Third, we had altar server training and now have several new servers trained, please be supportive of them as they fill their ministry at the table of the Lamb.

Finally, some of our school children will be attending one of the morning Masses each week. We have a Summer Camp her at St. Mary’s and it seems appropriate that they attend Mass at least once a week.

As always, I pray for the Lord’s blessing to be with all of you and your families.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Hammond
