Altar Server Recognition and Informational Luncheon. All altar servers (and future altar servers) and their parents are invited to attend this event Sunday, May 21st at in the school gymnasium. We will recognize all current altar servers with an award. We will also welcome all those who are interested in becoming an altar server. Training sessions and scheduling will be discussed at this meeting. If you are interested in filling the ministry of altar server or are currently an altar server please plan to attend.

As you know, we are in the process of conducting the 2006 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. If you have not yet had the opportunity to participate, please do so at your earliest convenience. This is a great way to help both the diocese of Columbus and St. Mary’s, for once we exceed our goal, the excess will be returned in full to our parish.
Many people have been asking, but as of this writing (Wednesday) I still do not know where my next assignment will be, nor do I know who is coming to St. Mary’s. Perhaps the Lord is trying to teach us to be patient! Please continue to pray that the best decisions will be made for everyone involved. I will keep you posted…

Why put a crown on Mary's head?
The queen symbol was attributed to Mary because she is a perfect follower of Christ, who is the absolute 'crown' of creation. As the Order of Crowning states:
She is the Mother of the Son of God, who is the messianic King.
Mary is the Mother of Christ, the Word incarnate. ... "He will be great
and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give him the
throne of his father David; and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever;
