NO Coffee & Donuts Easter Sunday

Dear parishioners,

Holy Week is here!  Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, when we recall the Lord’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, followed very closely by His passion, death on the cross, and resurrection.  I invite everyone to truly make this a “holy week” in your hearts and homes.  Certainly, one excellent way to do this is to participate in our services this week.  On Thursday, we will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:00 PM.  Following this Mass, there will be an opportunity to adore the Lord in the Holy Eucharist until midnight.  On Good Friday, we will celebrate the Lord’s passion beginning at 3:00 PM.  The Easter Vigil will begin Saturday at 8:30 PM, and our Easter Sunday Masses will be at the normal times of 9:00 and 11:30 AM.  These are moving liturgies, as we celebrate the great mysteries of our faith.  I hope everyone can participate, so please come pray with us!

Let us also pray for those who will be baptized and/or admitted into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.  Their pictures are on the board in the back of church.  We are very pleased that so many have participated in the RCIA this year.  Thanks to the leadership of Mike and Maureen Keebaugh, we really have an excellent program.  Let us pray that the good work that God has begun in all of our candidates and catechumens will indeed be brought to completion.

Please know of my prayers for God’s continued blessing upon all of us here at St. Mary’s.  I humbly ask for your prayers for me as well.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Hammond

If you can give of your time and talent in one of these vital ministries please call Jason in the office at or email him at 445-9668:

Welcome Committee:  Be apart of this crucial ministry that is the voice and face of St. Mary’s to those who join our parish.  Often times it is hard for new parishioners to fill apart of a close community and to get involved.  This committee is an advocate for new parishioners.  Furthermore, they reach out to bereaved parishioners, give parish tours, and organize dinners for parishioners to get to know the pastor better.

Social Concerns Committee: We are in need of an enthusiastic and organized leader to head up our Spring Help-At-Home project.

Marriage Team: We are looking for married couples who would like to share their experiences and knowledge with soon-to-be-married couples.

Thank you for your donations to Young-at-Heart for the McArthur Mission. Please save your items for our next caravan in the fall.
