Advent: As Christmas draws ever nearer, our thoughts can easily turn to the demands that just won’t go away: last-minute shopping, mailing a few more cards, planning menus for meals with family and special guests. We can so easily get overwhelmed. Make time today for an act of kindness—one you don’t really have time for.

NO Coffee & Donuts 12/25: Merry Christmas!

From the Pastor

Dear parishioners,

Christmas is coming!!  Are our hearts ready to receive the Lord?  Let us indeed prepare His way, so that we may receive Him with great joy and wonder.  I urge everyone to make a special effort this week for extra time in prayer and works of mercy, as a way of offering our hearts to the Father who gives us His only Son.

Please note our schedule for Christmas Masses.  We will have Mass on Saturday, Christmas Eve, at 4:00 PM.  This will be a children’s Mass with the Posada procession.  We will also have Mass at 6:00 PM, and at Midnight.  Please come early for the Midnight Mass and hear our wonderful choir!  Mass on Christmas morning will be at 10:00 AM.

Please also note that there will NOT be confessions next Saturday, due to the preparations needed for the Christmas Masses.  For those who wish to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation prior to Christmas, please come this Tuesday between 12:30 and 1:30 PM.  Both Fr. John Stattmiller and I will be available at that time in the two confessionals in the back of church.  I am also available by appointment if you prefer another time.

Looking ahead, our schedule for New Year’s weekend will be our regular weekend schedule, which means we will have Mass on Saturday at 4:00 PM, and Sunday at 9:00 and 11:30 AM.

I pray for God’s blessings to be with all of you as we conclude the Advent season and celebrate the Lord’s birth at Christmas!

Fr. Hammond
