Coffee & Donuts 9/25: O & E. Aideyman

Dear parishioners,

We had a very nice turnout for our parish picnic last Sunday. I am very grateful to the Knights of Columbus for organizing this event. The Knights really do a great deal of good for our parish and school, and we are thankful. Both the food and the weather were good, and I was glad that so many parishioners could come and enjoy.

Next Friday, September 23rd, the St. Mary School Library will host the annual Spaghetti Dinner in the gym.  Please make plans to attend, as it is always a fun and tasty event!

Please remember to support our food drive this weekend and next.  This drive helps the food pantries at both St. Ladislas and Southside Community ministries.  Please consult with members of our parish’s Social Concerns Committee for further information, as they will be in the back of the church after Masses this week.

As always, I continue to pray for the Lord’s blessing to be with all of you and your families!

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Hammond

They’re hungry!! St. Mary’s semi-annual food drive for our neighbors in south Columbus will be held on the weekends of September 17-18 and September 24-25. St. Ladislas and Southside Community Ministries need our help. Any basic shelf-life food such as cereal, peanut butter, or canned goods is most welcome. The pantries also need monetary gifts to purchase large quantities of food from Mid Ohio Foodbank ($2.00 will buy 10 cases of corn)! Members of the Social Concerns Committee will be at the back of church after each Mass to accept your donations. We appreciate all offerings!

Focus this week: Reverent Participation

We are called to “conscious, active and fruitful participation in the mystery of the Eucharist.”

A bow of the body, that is to say a profound bow, is made to the altar; in the Creed at the words by the power of the Holy Spirit…and became man); and in this diocese prior to receiving Holy Communion. This same profound bow is made by the deacon when he asks for a blessing before the proclamation of the Gospel.  To be continued…

Finance Corner: Anyone wishing to sponsor a child for the 2005-06 school year please contact Nancy Auer at 445-9668.

Please remember to honor your bingo commitment.
