FROM THE PASTOR

Dear parishioners,

Again I wish to congratulate our St. Mary eighth graders who graduated last Monday. This weekend, at the 11:30 Mass, we recognize and congratulate our high school graduates. We are grateful for all of God’s blessings which have brought you to this significant point in your lives, and we pray for His blessing to continue to be with you in your futures!

Our 2005 Bishop’s Annual Appeal continues to go well, and we should have a final total soon. Pledges currently total $124,000, and I want to make a final appeal to anyone who hasn’t yet pledged, to help us reach our goal of $150,00. I am extremely grateful to all who have given so generously to get us to this point. May the Lord reward you for your goodness!

Our Sunday night bingo is in need of volunteers. Now that it is a smoke-free environment, it should be easier for some of you to work at it!  Please consider an offering of your time for the good of St. Mary parish and school. Please contact Nancy Auer, 445-9668 for more information.

As always, I pray for God’s blessing to be with all of you and your families.

Sincerely in the Lord Jesus,

Fr. Hammond

BAA = $124,861.50. If you have not yet pledged please do so as soon as possible. Thank You.

Cook-out at Fr. Hammond's house! Join the members of the Social Concerns committee for a potluck at the rectory on Monday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. as we celebrate our successes and plan for the future. RSVP by June 13 to Julie Graham-Price, 444-5409 or julie_graham_price@yahoo.com. All are welcome!

After all Masses June 18 & 19 members of the Focolare Movement will be offering single issues of their magazine, Living City, at $3.00 a copy. The Focolare Movement is an ecclesial movement approved by Pope John XXIII in 1962 under the official name “Work of Mary.”

Saint Mary Parish 80th Annual Homecoming Festival is August 12/13.

DONATIONS FOR THE HOMECOMING SILENT AUCTION are needed – everything from tickets to trinkets, artworks to auto-works, season passes to services, food to football. If you know of an organization willing to donate, please contact us. Call Sandra Thompson, 444-5811 or Nancy Auer, 445-9668.

VOLLEYBALL SIGNUPS: If you are interested in signing up for volleyball next school year and you are entering grades 4 to 8, please call Mr. David Oddi at 277–9911 or email boddi@sbcglobal.net.  Students attending St. Mary School or parishioners of St. Mary’s Columbus or St. Mary’s Groveport are welcome.
